Amina Abodoma is a passion driven creative entrepreneur and producer with 10+ years of experience (MA Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship- Goldsmiths College) working across the creative industries of Theatre, Music, Film and TV. Since early childhood Abodoma’s passion was. in Arts and Culture. She has started her career creating and coordinating large-scale projects across the Euro-Mediterranean region in the fields of Art & Culture, Media, Education, Youth and Children’s Literature through her work as a programme officer at the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between cultures for 7 years.
In Parallel, Abodoma worked as a programme manager at the International Association for creation and Training (I-act), where she coordinated and organised 13 annual editions of multiple international theatre festivals in her hometown Alexandria. Since 2014, Abodoma is the artistic director of the international “Backstreet festival” of Contemporary Circus and Street Arts led by I-act.
As an Entrepreneur, Abodoma co- established her own creative enterprise; an arts space and social hub entitled “Teatro Eskendria” in 2012 in Alexandria. Teatro Eskendria is an arts centre and social hub based in Alexandria offering wide ranging services varying between artistic performances, training and capacity building workshops for youth, dialogue and children programmes. It also encompasses a handicrafts shop displaying contemporary Egyptian art products besides serving as a cultural café and restaurant.
In early 2014, Abodoma endeavoured with the Musician and Entrepreneur Daniel Merrill and the Art Producer Ahmed Selim in confounding El Wekala Global UK. Since that time onwards “ El Wekala- Global UK” has been excelling in producing a variety of projects and events for different artists including music, circus, and theatre. To date El-Wekala produced/co-produced/organised 50+ events between Europe, the Middle East and North America.
From 2016 to date, Amina Abodoma started her career in FILM & TV production. She was the curator and executive producer of the entertainment section of the TV show “Sherry’s Studio” starring the Egyptian mega star Sherine Abdel Wahab and produced by Beelink Productions. Since 2018, she has joined the companies Eagle films productions and later I productions and Charisma Picture as a creative and development producer and is currently working on different Middle Eastern productions to be broadcasted in 2022.
